Liam Chapman – Foundation Scholarship Winner

The Foundation’s donors and the scholarship they made possible have been a great help by allowing me to worry less about expense and focus on the end goal. Your scholarships have helped me pay for code books, textbooks, and tuition in the past two years.

Isaac Bliek – 2016 PHCC Apprentice of the Year

Sometimes all it takes is someone to tell you can’t do something to motivate you to do it better than anyone else. Five years ago, after three tours with the U.S. Air Force, Isaac Bliek was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and told by the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs that he would never be able to work again or hold a long-term job. Yet in late 2016, he earned PHCC’s prestigious Apprentice of the Year award and placed second in the Educational Foundation’s Plumbing Apprentice Contest at CONNECT 2016.

The only way to be successful in the plumbing business is to learn. And learning means not only learning what’s out there now, but what’s coming in the future. You have to teach the old generation, you have to reach the young generation, you have to reach out to all the resources you can.
